In this class we will go to different historical time periods to explore the architecture, landscape and the people. This is a great class to learn a bit about history, geography, science, literature and art. This is a well rounded class that gives students a very immersive and fun way to learn about history! In each class, we will start with an educational component and talk about how people in that period of history slept, ate and lived. We will learn general fun facts to get some context of the drawing. We will be visiting different time periods in Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia and much more! Occasionally, we may even time travel in the FUTURE, and discuss how authors, scientists and movies predict what will happen to the human race (such as flying cars and hover boards!) During the art component of the class, I will show the students a variety of art references and demonstrate step by step how to create drawings inspired by our travels through time. This class will teach students how to draw the people, architecture, patterns, foliage and colors of that particular time period. Each week, we will have a different theme and create a drawing based on that theme. Example Schedule Wk1: Greeks Wk 2: Aztecs Wk 3: Civil War Battleships Wk 4: World War II While this class is very fun and interactive, please keep in mind that this is not a "social club." I like to create a serene atmosphere where ALL students can draw and learn. While there is discussion about the historical topics, chatting is kept to a minimum. I welcome all students who want to partake in our classroom culture of courtesy and respect! Thanks I look forward to seeing you soon!
