Time Management & Study Skills for Neurodiverse Students ADHD ASD Special Needs
In this six week class, certified special education teacher Mrs. Boyd will teach neurodiverse students how to set themselves up for academic success, while students also have opportunities to build social relationships.

Description
Class Experience
Learning Outcomes: *Students will have the opportunity to build friendships and community with other students. *Students will learn the importance of having and keeping a schedule. *Students will learn how to set and achieve their goals. *Students will learn about prioritizing tasks and breaking large assignments into smaller parts to help them feel less overwhelmed. *Students will talk about distractions and share strategies for dealing with them. *Students will learn study and note taking skills.
Danielle Boyd is a certified Special Education teacher for students in grades K-8. Over the last 17 years she has taught several neurodiverse students in math, science, reading, writing as well as study and time management skills. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in History from Virginia Tech and Master’s of Education in Special Education from George Mason University. She enjoys reading, baking and super heroes! She has a poodle and anyone is welcome to him, especially if he tears another piece of paper into shreds! She looks forward to seeing you in class!
Homework: Students will be asked to use the planner they create in class together and discuss how it worked for them throughout the week.
Materials: Printer Paper & Pencil Highlighter Colored pencils
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
