Description
Class Experience
This is a lecture style class combined with Toonly visual aides. (Toonly is a mix between PowerPoint and a cartoon) I will give personal examples as well as examples from previous live classes from other anonymous students. WEEK ONE - TIME MANAGEMENT: Do you have goals and dreams that just never seem to come true? Learn how to complete goals by forming good habits. Students will brainstorm and share ideas. We will discuss hand writing in planners versus using your smartphone to plan. We...
Much of my expertise is explained in the class description. I began using a planner in middle school only when it was forced upon us in public school. However, what I learned was how much I enjoyed it because it helped keep me organized, remember things and accomplish more in life. I continued using a planner all though school. Later, in college I completed a course in time management and stress management. Some of the themes learned in both courses overlap to reduce stress, problem solve and form positive habits.
Week One: Create a log or journal of time wasters. Get a planner and begin filling it out. Write down your goals, dreams and aspirations. Week Two: Share what has helped you study. Share one thing you’ve learned from this course so far. What is a stressor in your life? Week Three & Four: Journal your stressors and find solution or method for eliminating that stressor. Students will be asked other questions throughout this course about their goals and struggles such as, what do you want to be when you grow up? Why do you think you are procrastinating? This class has a Lord of The Rings twist ( the nerd in me). I will use my map and correlations with the film as metaphors. Students will be asked to share and offer solutions for other students. When students participate, we will move to another place on our Map of Middle Earth. Ultimately, progressing in the game and destroying our enemies.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
