Time for German Christmas Special - Stop Those Naughty Elves!
Students will complete a series of challenges to stop those naughty elves from stealing Christmas. Along the way, students will learn lots of German Christmas vocabulary as well as the traditional song 'O Tannenbaum' (O Christmas Tree).

Welcome to this Time for German Christmas Special! You do not need to know any German in order to take part in this fun festive-themed lesson. In this one-time class, students will learn 12 items of Christmas related vocabulary such as 'Christmas Tree', 'Gift' and 'Reindeer', which will include more German-themed items such as 'Lebkuchen' and 'Stollen'. Throughout the class, the naughty elves will be taking these items and it is up to the students to complete the 6 challenges in order to get them back! One of those challenges will be to learn and sing/say the first verse of traditional German Christmas song 'O Tannenbaum' (O Christmas Tree). No problem at all if you don't want to sing - there are plenty of other fun activities to join in with. No previous knowledge of German is needed to take this class and for those who have taken classes with me before, this class is at the same level as my 'Time for German 101' lessons. I will use fun slides and activities to engage the students and at the end of the class, students will take part in a fun quiz to test out their new knowledge. A printable sheet containing all vocabulary and a Christmas activity for the lesson will be provided in the classroom a few days before the lesson starts so that the learning can continue outside of the classroom.

Parental Guidance
For the Nearpod quiz near the end of each lesson, the learner should be able to access Nearpod on their web browser. I will send a link and a code for them to enter the quiz 5 minutes before the end of class for the quiz to take place in class. Learners can either simply click on the link or enter the code onto the Nearpod website. They do not need a Nearpod account for this.
In class, I will use slides that I have created myself using Canva. I will simply share my screen so that learners can see the relevant information and all of that information will also be on the handout I provide - which is also created using Canva. You do not need a Canva account.
