Description

Class Experience

Students will learn the elements of color and design. Additionally, they will learn the art form/craft of tie dye. And finally, they will practice public speaking while sharing with the class.
There is no homework for this class.
1. A white t-shirt or garment. 100% cotton works best. 2. Sharpies of varying colors. 3. Rubbing or Isopropyl Alcohol. 4. A medicine dropper. 5. A piece of cardboard to go into the shirt to protect the side not being dyed. 6. Some covering for the working surface (plastic trash bag or plastic table cloth). 7. Some sort of vessel to hold the alcohol in order to then fill the dropper.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The student will be informally be assessed throughout the class.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Depending on the age of your child, you may want to oversee the use of the rubbing or isopropyl alcohol. Additionally, you may want to do this project in a well ventilated area.
