Class Experience

In this multi-day course, students will enjoy a class of interaction and learning as we dive into telling time. Through, powerpoints, games, modeling and discussion, students will have the opportunity to practice learning a new skill each week, building on the prior week's lesson. I use the teaching method, "I do, we do, you do" during my instruction where I will first model the skill, then we practice together, and then the students practice independently. I strive to make my classes very fun and interactive. Please note: I do mute the class as needed during instruction so that all students can hear me and other students that are talking. I want to make sure every students feels important and heard.

Each week's schedule will go as follows:
Week 1: Introductions, introduce the objectives for the course, begin first week's skills- identifying clocks as analog and digital, recognizing long and short hands of the clock, telling time to the hour, half-hour, and quarter-hour
Week 2: Brief discussion with students, review of prior week's lesson, begin second week's skill- telling time five minutes
Week 3: Brief discussion with students, review of prior week's lesson, begin third week's skill- telling time to one-minute
Week 4: Review, practice, and application of skills learned throughout the course

Supply List
I encourage students to bring a dry-erase board and dry-erase markers to practice writing the digital times and for answering questions. Also, if you would like to purchase a clock for your child to work with, Amazon has the clock I will be using for $5.99. But this is not required. I will be using the Learning Resources Write and Wipe Demonstration Clock. If there are any other supplies needed, I will let you know through the classroom tab.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
