Description

Class Experience

Hmmm, a closet full of costumes and no where to wear them. Time to make some time! In this social skills group your child will get to choose a favorite costume to wear and join other learners for a dress up tea party practicing conversation skills and prereading. Your child is encouraged to dress up as much or as little as they wish. They can also bring a favorite stuffed animal, doll, or pet to share in the fun!

This class is taught in English.

Learners will use show & tell to develop conversation and social awareness. They will apply prereading skills of oral language recognition and comprehension to identify plot, setting, and conflict of a story.

Kristyn is a licensed teacher with a background in special education, multisensory literacy strategies, and social studies. She has experience with children of multiple ages and abilities. She also loves to dress up and believes life begins the moment you realize you can dress up anytime you wish!

Mod & Muse Boutique is a dress up boutique in Northern Virginia that hosts themed weekly social events for families with children ages 3 to 12. Our Outschool classes are STEAM based (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) and feature cosmetology, fashion, pre-reading strategies, and social skill development.

Having a tea set is encouraged but not required to participate. A copy of our Tiara Tea Party Cookbook is provided upon enrollment with snack ideas to enhance the experience. Again this is not required.

30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
