Animals will come to life on paper as students add details to their own thumbprints! We will learn scientific facts about each animal and discuss how our thumbprints are unique.

Class Experience
Animals will come to life on paper as we add details to our own unique and special thumbprints! We will have fun together creating thumbprint animal art! * Learners will use markers to create 14 thumbprints on paper. * Students will add details to each thumbprint to create various animals such as an owl, rabbit, sea turtle, etc. * Students will receive step by step instructions on how to create each animal. * Learners will have several regarding the lay-out of their Thumbprint Animal Art...
Learning Goals: Students will learn how to use a washable marker to create a thumbprint. Students will learn how to draw various details to create animals. Students will work on decision making skills when laying out the format of their animals. Students will understand and demonstrate terms such as vertical, diagonal and horizontal. Students will use their own creativity and artistic ideas to create their own personal designs. Students will learn fun scientific animal facts. Students will watch a fun short video about each animal.
1 file available upon enrollmentStudents will need the following materials: *Attached printable worksheet (or copy paper, if handout isn't possible) *WASHABLE markers in various colors (I have found that Ultra-Clean Crayola washable markers work best) *Black ink pen (fine tip Black Sharpie Marker preferred) *Moist paper towel (baby wipe, wet wipe)for cleaning thumb during class
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will be asked to use a washable magic marker to color on their thumb.
