Important Note: CEFR: B1-B2 and above. The multicultural child is enriched by the whole world! In this playful class, your child will learn how to say Hello, Please and Thank You in 3 of the world languages, Spanish, French and German. If your child speaks yet another language not included, and he/she would like to share with the other Learners those 3 words, it would be a welcome contribution. In the process, your child will draw the countries' flags, learn geography, history and humanities of the countries that speak such languages, their location on the Earth's map, how languages share roots, and can even shape the way we think about things. The class is intended to let those words and languages launch a mini world exploration, and invite the child to become mindful of the fact that each language and culture are unique and enriching. We will use a globe as a prop to identify in which continent/country the language began to take its current form, and how and why it travelled to different continents across the world. Class will be inclusive, explorative, artistic, interactive and fun. For these reasons and for gauging Learner's interest level and to be able to adjust accordingly, I require open mics and video in my classes so there is a sense of community and engagement with the material. There is no pre-requirement for this class. Class size is capped at 3 so every child will have the opportunity to participate fully, learn and enjoy their world tour.

Supply List
Please supply Learner enough paper for drawing the flags, and taking notes if desired, as well as color pencils and/or crayons to draw the flags (black, red, yellow, blue and white). If they have a world globe, they could have it handy so we can locate the continents and countries. They will also need a quiet space, with no electronic interruptions, and a comfortable study station to enjoy the class. For younger learners, parents are welcome to be in the background assisting as needed. Completely optional for parents: If you would like to make this even more fun and memorable for your precious learner, some parents like to enhance the class experience by preparing some snacks from the countries being studied: Germany, France and Spain. Some suggestions may be: Germany, natural gummy bears, little sausages with french fries; France, pastry, cheese, or a croissant with chocolate; and Spain, a slice of baguette bread with a topping of their liking like Manchego cheese, olives, flan or churros for learning "in context".
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
