Class Experience
From new animal births to new habitat openings to conservation success stories, exciting developments are happening EVERY day in the zoo and aquarium world! In this ongoing class, we will be focusing on the amazing stories that come out of this field and discuss the latest happenings in a weekly group setting. Learners will be introduced to a current issue, development, or update from within the world of zoos and aquariums
With nearly thirteen years of experience in the zoo and aquarium community, Dr. Wildlife has a wealth of practical knowledge to help learners succeed in their career goals. Doc has helped with projects around the world from rehabilitating injured seabirds in South Africa to tracking tigers in central India. Currently, Dr. Wildlife manages a CAZA accredited reptile-focused zoo near Toronto, Canada.
A one-page optional handout will be provided for note-taking during the discussion.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Articles will be provided to parents at the conclusion of the class for the parents can open it with their learner and/or give permission for their learner to open it on their own.
Articles will be internet based from reputable sources.
