Are you interested in particle physics and want to keep up with the latest developments? Particle physics is on the frontier of physics research and our understanding of the universe. We have come a long way in our technologies and understanding thanks to this field of physics. In this weekly club we will explore some of the latest in this field of science. From atom smashers to dark matter and the fundamental forces of the universe, we will discuss how physicists are pushing our knowledge of all there is forward. Each week we will meet to discuss a variety of topics in particle physics news and current events, including topics like: - The standard model - Exotic matter - Anti-matter - Particle colliders - The nature of time and space - Quantum field theory - Energy - The big bang and the evolution of the universe - The interactions of particles in stars, neutron stars, and more - Supernovae and other high-energy events - The fundamental forces of the universe Learners will be able to participate with their thoughts, questions, and any information they want to bring to the table. I highly encourage communication and discussion in my classes. We will use visual cues to help us imagine and learn through our time together. Learners may not enjoy this class if they have limited exposure to physics, in particular quantum physics. Please reach out to me if you have any questions!
Learning Goals
Students will learn about current events in particle physics and the science behind these discoveries and advancements.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
We will discuss the inherent nature of the universe, which some people may find unsettling at times.
