This or That Writing/Would You Rathers - Fun Creative Writing Ideas

Welcome to my interactive online class for kids, where persuasive writing comes to life! Join us for a dynamic learning experience that combines fun "this or that/would you rather" questions with the art of persuasive writing. Through engaging activities, young learners will develop their writing skills by crafting compelling arguments and providing reasons to support their choices.

In this class, children will be presented with a series of exciting "this or that/would you rather" scenarios, sparking their imagination and critical thinking. They will then embark on a writing journey, expressing their opinions and persuasively defending their chosen option. I will guide them in structuring their arguments, using persuasive language, and organizing their thoughts effectively.

By participating in this class, kids will not only enhance their writing abilities but also develop valuable skills such as logical reasoning, creativity, and effective communication. They will gain confidence in expressing their opinions and learn to construct persuasive arguments in a fun and engaging environment.

During the first 5 to 10 minutes of the class, I will introduce the Would You Rather topic of the day. We will discuss our thoughts and opinions. I will provide all the students with their own Google Document link in which they can write their persuasive argument. I will highlight that each argument needs an introduction stating their answer, three supporting points, and a conclusion. Students will spend 10 to 15 minutes writing their answers. During the last 5 to 10 minutes of class, the learners can share their writing and their ideas.

Week 2 - Would you rather be able to teleport or own your very own plane?
Week 3 - Would you rather live somewhere hot or cold?
Week 4 - Would you rather be king/queen of the Earth or an alien planet?
Week 5 - Would you rather have a magic carpet that flies or have your own personal robot?
Week 6 - Would you rather only eat sweet foods or salty foods for the rest of your life?
Week 7 - Would you rather speak every language or read people's minds?
Week 8 - Would you rather slide down rainbows or jump on clouds?
