Class Experience
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.3.3 Describe the relationship between a series of historical events, scientific ideas or concepts, or steps in technical procedures in a text, using language that pertains to time, sequence, and cause/effect. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.3.8 Recall information from experiences or gather information from print and digital sources; take brief notes on sources and sort evidence into provided categories. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.4.3 Explain events, procedures, ideas, or concepts in a historical, scientific, or technical text, including what happened and why, based on specific information in the text. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.4.1 Write opinion pieces on topics or texts, supporting a point of view with reasons and information. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.5.7 Draw on information from multiple print or digital sources, demonstrating the ability to locate an answer to a question quickly or to solve a problem efficiently.
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education-Leadership. I have knowledge in teaching Social Studies Developmental concepts for children ages 3-8. I have also taught lessons about other historical figures in previous classes such as MLK, Harriet Tubman and Ruby Bridges.

In this class we will learn about slavery, freedom, racism, violence I will answer tough and sensitive questions in a child appropriate manner. We will be using: Epic Books: (Account needed) for reading stories about the Historical Figure Flocabulary: (No account needed, the video will be shared on my screen) for watching videos about the historical figure.
