Today’s math connecting school and home while keeping your child's academic skills enhanced and/or maintained with fun-filled weekly themed units! Each week students will engage in a fun theme that includes one or more of the following: *solving equations *place value *patterns *fractions *measurement *money and time *geometric shapes *word problems Each activity page provides meaningful number and operations practice. Each theme ends with an assessment (Friday Math Test) Students will send to Teacher Cassie for grading and feedback! :) Students will work with a small group and the teacher to complete the daily activity. Monday: Introduction to Skill and practice Tuesday-Thursday: activities to go along with their weekly skill/theme Friday: Test your Skills *Weekly Theme Topics* This is an ONGOING class that will run through the 2022-2023 school year! Week of August 29th: Robot Fun: use addition/subtraction strategies, regrouping, divide within 100, identify odd/even numbers, solve word problems, write numbers in expanded form, round to the nearest 10 and 100, identify problems, calculate amounts with coins, read a bar graph, classify shapes, identify attributes of polygons Sept 05: Animal Friends: add/subtract within 1000, use addition/subtraction strategies, regrouping, solve word problems, count by 10's, compose and compare numbers, sequence 3-digit numbers, identify patterns, determine the value of money, tell time to the nearest five minutes, identify attributes of quadrilaterals and other shapes Sept 12 : Carnival Math use addition/subtraction strategies, regrouping, write multiplication sentences, multiply using arrays, solve word problems, recognize the relationship between addition and subtraction and between addition and multiplication, determine the value of money, tell time to the nearest minute, use a.m. and p.m., interpret a picture graph and a bar graph, classify shapes Sept 19: In the Woods Multiply 1 digit numbers, write division sentences, solve word problems, recognize the relationship between multiplication and division, identify thousands, hundreds, tens, and ones, write numbers in expanded form, tell time to the nearest minute, measure time intervals, create a tally and a bar graph Sept 26: What a Sport! use addition/subtraction strategies, regrouping, Multiply 1 digit numbers, divide within 100, solve word problems, count by ones, fives, hundreds, and thousands, compose numbers, sequence 3 and 4 digit numbers, round to the nearest 10, 100, and 1,000, identify patterns, measure length using centimeters, measure perimeter, read a double bar graph *Fall Break, No class the week of October 3rd-7th* Week of October 10: In the Garden.
