This class will cover the four main topics of third grade math in the context of an upbeat, relational and fun classroom environment! Mrs. A values classroom community and strives to involve every learner within their individual comfort levels. Geometry, fractions, multiplication/division, and measurement/data, will each be covered in depth during a 55-minute session, packed with student interaction, practice problems, real-life connections, and foundational learning with fourth grade math in mind. After class, homework will be posted in the classroom for continued learning, review, and real-life application. Classes will be student-centered, taught with slides & games, and lots of fun. The goal of this class are to solidify the math foundation in preparation for 4th grade, and to boost your child’s confidence in mathematics! Join Mrs. A for this fun class, and set your learner up for success this Fall! Class 1-multiplication & division Class 2-fractions Class 3-measurement & data Class 4-geometry In class 1 we will discuss the connection between addition and multiplication, then go on to connect that with division. We will use manipulatives, pictures, stories, and games to practice these algebraic concepts. In class 2 we will name, draw, discuss, and add fractions while having lots of fun. We will review fraction vocabulary and identify fractions in our own lives! In class 3 we will review various measurement and data concepts from third grade including telling time, using a ruler, finding perimeter, graphing and using capacity. In class 4 we will identify shapes, discuss their numbers of vertices, sides and edges and classify them in different ways. We will each find a 3D shape in our home to share.

Pre-Requisites
This is a review of third grade math. It is not designed to be primary instruction and the expectation is for learners in this course to have already taken third grade mathematics.
