In this eight-week course, students will learn place value, addition, and subtraction.

***This class is one-quarter of the full-year third-grade curriculum. The class meets in quarters of the school year to better meet the needs of students and their school schedules.*** This class when combined with quarters 2-4 will cover all the material students need to master in third grade. Students will be able to identify the place value of digits. Students will be able to use manipulatives to determine the place value of numbers. Students will be able to add up to three digits. Students will be able to subtract up to three digits. Students will be able to estimate addition problems. Students will be able to estimate subtraction problems.
I have a degree in early childhood and special education. I have taken a multitude of classes that have taught me how to meet the needs of every student in the classroom. I have also taught in a variety of classroom settings. This allowed me to learn multiple approaches to content area.
Homework Offered
Homework will be given to children. It is optional. I supply answers, so that students can check their work. Please note that I do not give homework every night. If students are not ready to work on problems independently, I will wait until the next night to give out homework. I do this to avoid frustration.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
I used informal assessments. Students show me their work or submit their work in the chat. I keep class sizes small, so that I know the level of each child in the class.Grades Offered

I use Google Docs and Canva frequently in the class to present information. I will occasionally send students a link to Google Docs, so that they can do activities on their screens and I can check each student's work.
