Description
Class Experience
Students will demonstrate understanding of narrative and informational texts and apply the Key Idea and Details standards of the Common Core standards for third grade.
Having taught for 26 years and currently serving as a reading specialist, I know how to break down the standards for this particularly important grade level. I can provide intensive instruction in this small group to ensure students have a preview of the identified skills to further their success in ELA.
Students will be given assignments, including independent reading and skills practice to be completed outside of class. This will be very important since class will be about instruction and feedback.
Students will need a journal or notebook and pencils.
Students will take a pre and post test to determine skills deficit and growth.
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
