Are you curious about learning the guitar but not sure whether you want to go through with it? Or maybe you don't know where to start? This one-time class will give you an idea about how to start, or will help you decide if guitar is right for you! No-experience necessary. Just come with your guitar, and if you don't have one yet, still come hang with us. What We’ll Cover: Introduction to the Instrument: We’ll explore the different parts of the guitar and how to hold it. You’ll learn how to make your first sounds on the instrument. Basic Chords: Get a taste of what it’s like to play a chord or two. We’ll keep it simple, but you’ll leave knowing how to play a couple of basic chords that are the building blocks of many songs. Strumming Introduction: Experience the rhythm of the guitar with a basic strumming pattern. You’ll get a feel for how the guitar can drive the beat in a song. Next Steps: We’ll discuss what’s involved in learning the guitar, what to expect in terms of practice, and how to choose the right guitar if you’re ready to take the plunge. Why Take This Class? If you’ve been thinking about learning the guitar but aren’t sure if it’s for you, this class will give you a solid introduction. By the end, you’ll have a better idea of what playing the guitar is like and whether you want to continue your musical pursuits.
