Teacher expertise and credentials
Teaching is my passion! I love nurturing the love for reading, the love for writing, the love for learning. I have been teaching for 25 years in the elementary school setting. I have been a classroom teacher, literacy coach, and am currently a licensed Reading Specialist. I am also a licensed ESL teacher and have had the amazing experience of teaching in a diverse school nicknamed, “Where the World Goes to School”. I continue to teach English Language Learners in my reading classroom, as well as online.
My students describe me as patient, caring, inspiring, and fun. I strive to inspire my learners to grow and learn each day. Having a positive growth mindset is key!
I would love to share my passion for learning with your child. I invite your child to join me for a variety of literacy classes. Whether they are an emerging reader needing to build their foundational skills; a fluent reader ready to dig deeper and share their thinking with others; an aspiring writer ready to collect ideas for future pieces; or perhaps a hesitant writer who just needs a little inspiration and encouragement, I would love to welcome them to my classroom. My two pups would love to invite them as well. Let's grow together!
