Things are not always as they seem! In this spin-off of my popular Think, Draw and Write class, we will be looking at ordinary objects in a new way while practicing our brainstorming, drawing, writing, speaking and listening skills using various writing prompts. Approximately 24 hours before the scheduled class time, learners will be given a writing sheet to DOWNLOAD and PRINT to use in class. The sheet will contain a picture which will be our starting point for the lesson. Learners must think of a different, creative or unconventional way the item can be used. For example, the page may contain a picture of a teacup, but we must finish the picture by making the teacup something else. Is it a boat? Is it a hat? We will expand our imagination and draw a scene incorporating the picture and write either a few sentences about the picture or a short story, based on learner ability. We will share our drawings and writing at the end of class. This class is ideally for learners who are in 2nd-5th grade. While it may be helpful if learners have already taken my level 1 or 2 Think, Draw & Write class, They are NOT prerequisites for this level 3 class.
Learning Goals
Students will practice thinking outside the box, sharing and organizing their ideas, writing skills and listening and speaking skills.

Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from California State University Northridge
Hi there. My name is Frances and I love teaching on Outschool. I offer classes in phonemic awareness, phonics, reading comprehension, creative writing and math.
I have a Bachelor's in Journalism from California State University Northridge. I am an elementary school substitute teacher and classroom instructional assistant where I do reading and math intervention one on one and with small groups and lead Listening and Speaking activities. For several years, I also taught English online to children in China.
The online classroom is a fun way to interact with others and expand our minds. In my classroom, we will work together to learn new things and practice skills when "we aren't just there yet" until we are masters! What a wonderful time we live in that we can connect and learn together from anywhere in the world.
Fun fact about me: I eat chocolate everyday.
