Description
Class Experience
Multiplication with multi-digits can be a challenge! This hour long course will employ storytime, art, math demonstrations and guided practice to help upper elementary math students become efficient, accurate, and confident when mutliplying 2 digits by 2 digits, and 3 digits by 2 digits. We'll be drawing butterflies and crowns to help remember the procedural steps for this standard algorithm. Join us for the learning and the fun. This class is a good companion class for "Think Candy Bars...
The goal of this class is to foster competency with a standard algorithm for multiplication of multi digits, facilitating understanding, and develoing efficiency and accuracy when multiplying.
Homework will not be assigned, but the student will be encouraged to create and solve their own multiplication problems using the concepts covered in this class. Math takes practice, and the more a student practices, the more confident a student becomes!
Pencil, paper and crayons, markers or colored pencils are needed, along with a desire to learn and have fun!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
