In this one-time class, I will read the interactive story "There's a Wocket in My Pocket!" by Dr. Seuss. We will identify rhyming words while we are reading this story, as well as talk about real and nonsense words. I will ask learners comprehension questions during and after we read this book. Learners will practice identifying rhyming words. Learners will discriminate between real and nonsense or make believe words. Learners will use their creativity to create their own wocket.
*colored tongue depressors or popsicle sticks (painted or colored with markers before class) *googly eyes (2 per stick) *glue *feathers or pipe cleaners *black marker
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
