There Was a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow! Story Time and Craft
Class experience
US Grade Preschool - 1
In this one-time class, I will read "There Was a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow!" by Lucille Colandro. I will ask students comprehension questions before, during, and after the story. Students will have several opportunities to share their thoughts and opinions during class. Then we will make a picture of ourselves swallowing some snow! An example of this craft is in the class picture. Please feel free to use the optional PDF as a template to cut out the shapes onto construction...
Students will learn about the parts of a book. Students will practice pre-reading skills such as reading from left to right and top to bottom. Students will understand words represent a spoken word and convey a message. Students will answer simple questions about the story. Students will describe elements in a story, for example, characters and/or setting (time, place, and/or environment). Students will retell the sequence of events in the story.
