Great theme park design is all about storytelling and helping the audience feel like they've been transported to a new place. In this class students will be encouraged to create a food cart based off a loose idea--in this case, a vendor in a pirate village. We'll discuss ways to use detail, story, and imagination to create a design that will fit in with the theme, but is completely unique to each student. A few templates will be provided as printables for class for those who wish to build on a foundation, but students are encouraged to get some ideas and then explore other ways of solving this challenge creatively. At the end of the session we'll share our designs with our classmates.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how storytelling influences design choices. They will go through the process of brainstorming for an idea, rough sketches and planning, and creating a final concept piece for a fun, themed food cart.
