Class Experience

Welcome to Introduction to Acting!
Have you ever wanted to learn acting, but don't know where to begin? Look no further! In this one week acting camp, we will learn how to warm-up our voice/body, read a script and even perform a scene with a partner! This is the perfect introduction class for students with no acting experience. However, if your learner would like a refresher on the basics, they are welcome too!

Class Schedule:
Day 1 - Get to Know You, Warm Ups, Picking a Scene and Memorization Techniques
Day 2 - Warm Ups and Acting Games
Day 3 - Introduction to a Script: How do I read this thing??/Breakout Room Scene Rehearsal
Day 4 - Breakout Room Rehearsal and Individual Feedback
Day 5 - Scene Performance

Learners will not only learn helpful tools for performing, but they will receive individualized feedback from a working actress! If time permits, we will also play Theatre games as a warm up! Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity for your learner to connect with others that are interested in performing.
This class is interactive and participation is required for the full experience. All scripts/scenes will be age appropriate.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, my name is Ms. Urbanovsky and I'm super excited to be teaching on Outschool!

I graduated from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi in 2018. Since then, I've been working at my local theatre teaching classes for all age groups! I've been a certified Texas teacher for two years and currently hold a certification to teach Theatre Arts and Dance. I'm also fluent in American Sign Language and I'm an active combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors. I'm a working actress in the Austin, TX area and have directed locally and in New York City.

My goal as an educator is to inspire, motivate and become an active participant in my students' learning journey. I'm a teacher not only to teach the content, but to give my students the tools to become who ever they want to be. Theatre teaches lots of important life lessons, such as patience, creativity and teamwork. Even if a student is not interested in continuing Theatre as a career, they can still benefit from the lessons that Theatre teaches us.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading books, cooking and traveling the world! My favorite place I've been to is Scotland where I performed in the Fringe Festival, one of the biggest Theatre festivals in the world!!
