Class Experience

Your young one will join in class and warm up their bodies, voices, and imaginations through theatre creative dramatics.

We will create our own adventure looking for an animal we wish to see... why just a bear? Are we looking for a unicorn? A bee? A whale? A tiger? You decide.

Your young learner will be able to theatrically explore different locations that they each decide we should visit on our journey. They will use paper and crayons to draw where they think we should travel. We'll then explore these places with our bodies - Can't go over them. Can't go under them. Can't go around them. We've gotta go through them! Will we skate on ice? Lick our way through a candy forest? Slide down a rainbow? We're only limited by our imaginations.

Theatre for all.
Learning Goals
Game-based cooperative storytelling technique engages the imagination, promotes problem-solving, teaches communication, and nurtures self expression in a structured and positive way - all while kids are having a blast. They will find ways to express themselves and be big and bold and becoming and important piece of a theater ensemble.

Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from Towson University
I am back from hiking the Appalachian Trail! I am opening up my teaching schedule and up to schedule requests (and class requests). In January, I begin a MFA in children's book writing but will be able to continue teaching.

I am a theater educator and artist based in Chicago, IL. I am the founder and director of Storytown, a fully improvised, interactive adventure for kids. Through Storytown, we work to cultivate creativity and arts appreciation while audiences to story structure and problem solving.

I graduated from Towson University with BA in Theater Arts and then moved to Chicago to study improvisation. I studied at the iO and Second City. I have performed around Chicago with iO, Second City's Skybox Theater, Moving Dock Theater Company, Redtwist Theatre, and WNEP with Seven Deadly Plays and 365 Sketches.

I focus on improvisation because it teaches students to express themselves while being big and bold. When we fail, we fail greatly and get right back up and try again. My goal is not to train students to be actors when they grow up, but rather to make them better humans. I focus on "yes, and" and ensemble building. I believe we're better when we support each other and work as a team.

I live in Chicago with my cat Sonny and my husband. We love hiking and camping when we can. Not Sonny, but she does like laying outside on our balcony.
