In this class, learners will be introduced to various verbal and physical warm-ups used by actors to prepare before rehearsals and productions. This will be a more teacher-led type of class, although students are encouraged to ask questions and model new things. I will use slides to show the phrases that we will be saying and I will model the physical movements. Given that this is introductory, all physical movements can be modified. Students can expect to: -Participate in a variety of tongue twister type of verbal warm-ups, including a focus on speed and volume. These will not be singing exercises. -Participate in a variety of face/movement exercises aimed at using the face/body to represent emotions, animals and situations (such as brushing teeth, falling asleep in class, scrolling through social media etc..)
Learning Goals
-Students will practice tongue twisters and verbal warm-ups.
-Students will move their bodies in various ways to open up.
-Students will use facial expressions and movements to demonstrate feelings and situations.Other Details
