This sensory lab engages sight, hearing, and touch. This lab provides structured lesson on colors and unstructured time for creativity through painting. Students will arrive to class with their ice paints kept in the freezer. We will go over the primary and secondary colors. Students will converse and talk about colors. There will be a brief verbal comprehension check. Then, students will begin to create their own masterpieces. This is a social and an interactive class. Teacher Elaine will ask questions and engage learners throughout this lab. No prior experience required.

4. Develop cognitive, social, physical, communicative and sensory skills

Other Details
Parental Guidance
Dyes or colors can stain. Use food coloring with caution. This can be messy fun for learners. Students are welcomed to set up outside providing it is a quiet place or they have sound reducing headsets.

Ice tray Water Blue, red, yellow dyes Popsicle sticks(optional) Protective table cover i.e. newspaper, dollar store tablecloth Paper(your choice for painting) water color, paint paper or paper towels Gloves - optional Wipes or a paper towel for messy hands Q-tips or generic versions - optional

Teacher Elaine is a homeschool mom. She grew up surrounded by art. This is an opportunity to learn colors by name and express creativity. The Young Learner's Sensory Lab was birthed out of a positive experience. The kitchen and the dining room are great laboratories for intentional learning. It has been an educational adventure ever since.
