US Grade 4 - 7
In this ongoing course we will meet once a week and read a new weekly writing prompt together. Topics will range from story writing to writing about our own experiences. Students will have roughly 25-30 minutes to think about and finish their writing. During this time I will bounce around and check-in one-on-one with every student to discuss their ideas and any help they may need until time has elapsed. The last 10-15 minutes will be spent reading and sharing our writing with the rest of our peers and listening to feedback to improve our writing skills. 1. Week of 1/1-1/7: If you could visit anywhere in the world or in our solar system, where would it be and why? 2. Week of 1/8-1/14: Make up an animal. Name the animal species you've created. Describe what it looks like and what abilities it may have. What does it eat? Where does it live, describe its home or habitat. 3. Week of 1/15-1/21: You are king or queen of a new nation. How will you choose to rule your people? What is the first thing you'll do once you become king or queen? 4. Week of 1/22-1/28: You are going to make a sandwich. Choose what kind of sandwich you are going to make, describe it, and write out in chronological order, step-by-step, how to make your sandwich. 5.
