Class Experience

This is a personalized writing class for learners of all ability levels. A student might utilize this class to practice effective writing for personal goals, or they may want extra help to supplement a class assignment. Types of writing can include short stories, poetry, essays, and journaling. I can coach and instruct students who might need help forming ideas and organizing them into cohesive pieces. Students who want to further their skills or get constructive advice on pieces they have already written can benefit from this class.

Some students might need help....
- Brainstorming for ideas.
- Shaping characters.
- Developing plot.
- Writing poetry.
- Utilizing effective word choices.
- Editing skills.
- ....... and much more!

In class, I can provide writing prompts to practice with, or a learner is welcome to bring something that they have already crafted. Students should be prepared to spend time writing in class. They will need something to write with/on, either electronic or paper and pencil.

My teaching style is encouraging and positive. I view learning as a collaborative effort. I wish to help students discover and develop their inner writer.

I have always loved writing since I could pick up a pencil. I was editor of the high school and college literary magazine. My first published work was a poem that I wrote when I was in college. Since then, more of my poetry has been professionally published as well as many of my short stories. Currently I have my next work under review for publication with my editor.
