Description

Class Experience

Each week we will meet to practice reading, social skills and have fun engaging in an activity with friends online. Students will read the chapters listed below before class so that we may discuss the book with friends during class. Each student will have the opportunity to read aloud, share opinions on the book and engage in a fun activity with peers. Our goal is to practice reading before and during class to sharpen our reading and comprehension skills. We will play trivia and word games...

Students will develop social skills, enhance reading skills and gain practice reading aloud in a group.

Students will need to read required chapters before each class begins in order to discuss the book when the class meets. We meet 4 times per month. You will read the first 4 chapters before our first class and read 2-3 chapters per week until the book is finished on our last meeting of the month. Students may choose to read the whole book and practice reading aloud in class rather than read the required chapters each week.

A multi page handout will be provided on the first day of class. See the Description for materials for each class.

50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
