Description
Class Experience
By writing through real life experiences and the worst thing they ever tasted, students will improve their understanding of writing a personal narrative. They will be introduced to writing in the first person, showing a sequence of events with time-order words and transitions. We will discuss the helpfulness of the prewriting process to gather and organize ideas. This class also stresses the importance of description in every piece of writing to create something that readers want to read.
I am offering this class because I enjoy the creative process of writing and sharing my joy in it with young learners. It gives me greater joy seeing the students in my classes hard at work writing and hearing the enthusiasm and confidence they gain in their own work.
Students are encouraged to expand on the writing done in class and to share completed projects on this classroom page for the teacher and other students to view.
Students will need a writing tool of choice (pen, pencil, colored pencils) and paper to write on.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
