This class will cover a broad history of UFOs, or Unidentified Flying Objects. We will explore some of the vast history of UFO reports, and what people thought of them at the time. We will also discuss current and near past research and scientific inquiry into the phenomena, including some of the ideas researchers have regarding the nature of them. This class aims to achieve a balanced (neutral) perspective -- to inform on the subject and the data rather than interpret these ideas to form any concrete meaning or conclusion, though speculative discourse is always welcome! As an educator I lead discussion based classes where learners are encouraged (but not pressured) to share their thoughts, ideas, and knowledge. I try to create an engaging space where I meet learners where they are and help them engage in the content in ways that make sense for them as individuals. My classes always come with images and videos where appropriate that aim to assist me in communicating complex ideas and concepts. My classes are fluid and dynamic within the structure of the content.
Learning Goals
A broad history of UFO reports.
Current thinking about the phenomena.
