I absolutely love to teach science and understand the importance of creating engaging lesson plans that are student centered which focus on enquiry based learning. Students will know, use, and interpret scientific explanations of the natural world; discuss scientific evidence and explanations using enquiry-based learning; understand the nature and development of scientific knowledge; and. participate productively using hands-on learning activities and experiments.
I am a certified special education and general education teacher with multiple years working with students of all capabilities. I am currently obtaining my MED in Educational leadership and Principal license to become a special education director and have an MED Special Education. Alongside this, I am endorsed with early years special education within the State of Colorado. I have been in education for over 13 years and have taught in a variety of different settings to diverse populations in multiple subjects areas. Science is one of my favorite things to teach due to it's opportunities for experiments and activities and cross curricular advantages.
I will be sending home my lesson plan ahead of time detailing the week's content including any: Worksheets Materials needed (glue, scissors, coloring pencils, eraser, writing pencil etc.) Parent Resources It is useful to have materials ready at your child's workspace for each lesson including a folder materials needed for that week and to keep past work organized and accessible for re-teaching and review!
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
To reach all variety of learning styles, visuals and songs will be used throughout the classes with the support of YouTube. Please ensure that your Zoom is updated to avoid any technical difficulties.
