In “The Wonders of Ancient Egypt”, we dive deep into the fascinating world of Ancient Egyptian civilization, focusing on iconic achievements such as the pyramids and mummification practices. We cover: • The architectural marvel of the pyramids and how they were (likely) built. • The religious and cultural significance of mummification. • The role of pharaohs and their influence on Egyptian society. • Major discoveries from ancient Egypt, including tombs and artifacts. This is a one-hour session, combining short lectures, multimedia presentations, and group discussions. I use engaging visuals, including photos of ancient sites, diagrams of pyramid construction, and video clips illustrating key concepts. Each topic is explored interactively, with plenty of opportunities for students to ask questions and share their thoughts throughout the session. My teaching approach is highly interactive and student-centered. I start with an overview of ancient Egyptian history before moving into more detailed discussions about pyramids and mummification. I believe in making history come alive, so incorporate real-world examples and hands-on exploration to help students connect with the material. Learners also have the opportunity to interact with me and their peers regularly during the class. Students should come prepared to engage with the material actively. They will: 1. Participate in interactive discussions about ancient Egypt’s wonders. 2. Think critically about how ancient Egyptian culture has influenced the modern world. 3. Enjoy a multimedia experience that includes images, slides, and videos to bring history to life. By the end of the class, students will have a greater understanding of ancient Egypt’s monumental achievements and the beliefs that shaped them, leaving with both a sense of wonder and a foundation for further historical inquiry.
