Join our On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness book study and work on your T.H.A.G.S. (the Three Honored And Great Subjects) just like Janner, Tink and Leeli. You probably have already read this great book (its so hard to put down once you start reading). But let's go a little deeper into this adventure with some great group discussion and make your own T.H.A.G.S. notebook. This class meets once a week for four weeks. Learners will grow in their ability to understand and discuss a novel with a group and improve their understand of character, setting and plot in the book.
I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and 16 years of experience teaching a variety of ages and subjects, including reading and writing. I have homeschool my own four children from preschool through highschool. I have completed the Reading Simplified Academy Training provided by Reading Simplified.com.
Homework Offered
Learners will need to complete the reading before each class about 10-15 chapters each week (as much as 85 pages). During class we will begin filling in the notebook, but that will need to be completed after class. Depending on how fast your learner reads: expect 2-4 hours of homework each week.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Learners will be encourage to participate in the group discussion and to share their creative writing from the binder, but no formal assessment will be given.Grades Offered

The Wingfeather Saga is a series of fantasy/adventure novels. The story includes fighting and some characters die. There will be some activities where learners will need to use scissors to cut out paper.
