Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 5
Beginner Level
In this 8-week interactive book club, students will read The Wild Robot by Peter Brown while exploring key themes like friendship, survival, compassion, and problem-solving. Each class covers 10 chapters and includes discussion time to reflect on the story, fun trivia games to strengthen comprehension, and themed coloring pages based on the book’s original illustrations to encourage creativity.

Classes are structured with a consistent flow: brief chapter recap, open discussion, trivia questions, and creative time. My teaching style is engaging, supportive, and discussion-based. I encourage every learner to participate, share their thoughts, and ask questions. We’ll use slides for chapter highlights and trivia, and students will receive printable coloring sheets before each class. This club is perfect for readers who enjoy adventure, interactive learning, and a welcoming space to grow their love of books.

These scenes are presented in a gentle, age-appropriate way by the author, but we will handle them with care during discussion. No extra safety precautions are required for this class.

I am a certified librarian and experienced educator with a strong background in children’s literature, literacy development, and book-based programming. I have taught The Wild Robot book club many times in my library setting, where I regularly lead interactive reading groups, storytime sessions, and themed book clubs for elementary-aged children. Over the years, I’ve worked with children of various ages in both one-on-one and group settings, fostering a love of reading through engaging discussions, creative activities, and hands-on learning.

With a passion for combining literature and creativity, I design lessons that go beyond reading to include comprehension-building games, art integration, and character exploration. My classroom environment is always encouraging, inclusive, and designed to help every child feel confident sharing their ideas. I bring energy, patience, and a deep love for books into every session, and I’m excited to share this meaningful story with young readers on Outschool.
