Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 5
During this fun and interactive book club class, we will jump into Roz the robot's world as she adapts to living in the wilderness after being shipwrecked on an uninhabited island. This book is being made into a movie later this year, so it's the perfect book to read before your learners see it on the big screen!

Each week we will discuss chapters from the book and explore the plot, theme, characters, setting, conflicts, and vocabulary. Students will have vocabulary and comprehension handouts for each section of the book to fill in before and during class. Every class, learners will have an opportunity to have free talk about the book, share their opinions and ask questions. Before class starts, students should read the weekly recommended chapters and complete the handouts as best as they can. In class, we will go through the answers together, do additional vocabulary practice in the form of games and have more in-depth discussions about the story elements.
