Did you know that turtles breathe through their butt? Or that ostriches NEVER hide their heads in the ground when they are scared? I bet you thought that bulls can see the color red as well! Nope! Bulls can not see that color at all! Why do they charge the red cape then? Come find out! Let's learn about all sorts of animals, and BUST some common animal myths while we are at it! I will also incorporate media awareness when it comes to the falsehoods we see in cartoons, or even online! In this streaming class, we will dive into the amazingly diverse animal world by exploring all sorts of creatures, from those in the ocean, to those on land, and even those up in the sky! Let's learn about reptiles, insects, mammals, amphibians, and much, much more! There will be a little bit of everything for all you animal lovers out there! Think about this for a moment: How WEIRD would it be if a tadpole NEVER turned into a frog...super weird, right?! Well, that's what happens to the Axolotl! They are just like Peter Pan, because they never grow up! They remain a larva their entire lives! WEIRD! Each week, we will learn extremely weird (and sometimes gross) facts regarding at least 30 different animals each class! Afterward, students are encouraged to share their favorite weird fact from class as well as any weird facts they know about animals! Week 1: Weirdest Things Animals Do - And Why Part 1 Week 2: Weirdest Things Animals Do - And Why Part 2 Week 3: Weirdest Things Animals Do - And Why Part 3 Week 4: Farts, Farts and MORE Farts! Sunday: Classroom recording will be posted, along with a Kahoot! link which is based on the classroom material. I can't wait to meet your learner! It the meantime, keep it weird! Ms. Marie

Parental Guidance
Nothing is off limits, from poop to barf, and everything in between! Don't worry though, it's all relevant, and I am very skilled at keeping it classy, yet super silly, while still teaching animal science in a professional manner to ensure that your child will retain the information long-term! This is evident in the thousands of 5 star reviews left by parents just like you on the live version of these classes! Feel free to check the reviews out!
Ex: Wombats use their block shape poop to build towers to mark their territory!
Ex: When camels, llamas and alpacas "spit" on people, it is actually barf! NOT SPIT!!! WOW!

Do you have an animal lover in your life? Or perhaps a future zoologist, veterinarian, or conservation minded young learner? Then you've come to the right spot!
My name is Marie, and as an Animal Science teacher, I would love to teach your child all about the amazing animals in this world!
I have taught over 20,000 students on Outschool, and I have 18 years of experience teaching at all levels.
I believe in eliciting as much student output as possible. Learners are encouraged to ask questions (and to share knowledge on each topic) as we learn together.
When I am not playing an instrument, I enjoy watching every nature show in existence alongside my children, learning as much as I can about the weird animals in the world so that I can bring it to the classroom and share it with your child!
