The Weirdest Things Animals Do- And Why!
Did you know that a King Cobra is NOT actually a cobra? Or that turtles breathe through their butt? That's not all - sloths are better swimmers than most humans, and butterflies fart! It's all true! Let's explore the weirdest (and sometimes gross) things that animals do, and the reasons WHY!! Let's BUST some common animal myths while we are at it! After class, your child can test their knowledge with an OPTIONAL game of Kahoot! (animal) (weird) (gross) (zoology)

In this Animal Science class, your child will learn many weird and wacky facts about numerous creatures from all around the world! For example, did you know that butterflies fart? Or that wombats build towers with their poop to mark their territory? I bet you didn't know that Ostriches actually NEVER hide their heads in the ground, am I right? Cartoons have tricked us all! I am here to teach your child the facts, and bust the myths around some of the world's weirdest animal behavior. This...
Learners will become informed about many weird animal behaviors, and will understand the reasons behind these behaviors. As strange as an animal behavior may seem, it always serves a purpose, and it is usually essential to their very survival! Your child will be able to teach YOU about what they have learned, and will have a number of myth busters to try out on you as well!
Students should have a piece of paper and a pen to play a little guessing game at the start of class:)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We discuss a few species who sometimes gobble up their young, such as sharks, for example.
