The Weirdest Things Animals Do- And Why!

Class
Did you know that a King Cobra is NOT actually a cobra? Or that turtles breathe through their butt? That's not all - sloths are better swimmers than most humans, and butterflies fart! It's all true! Let's explore the weirdest (and sometimes gross) things that animals do, and the reasons WHY!! Let's BUST some common animal myths while we are at it! After class, your child can test their knowledge with an OPTIONAL game of Kahoot! (animal) (weird) (gross) (zoology)

Description

Class Experience

Learners will become informed about many weird animal behaviors, and will understand the reasons behind these behaviors. As strange as an animal behavior may seem, it always serves a purpose, and it is usually essential to their very survival!

Your child will be able to teach YOU about what they have learned, and will have a number of myth busters to try out on you as well!
Students should have a piece of paper and a pen to play a little guessing game at the start of class:)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We discuss a few species who sometimes gobble up their young, such as sharks, for example.
