Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 8
Sometimes it can be difficult to know how to change a verb from the present tense to the past tense. Many verbs simply call for an addition of -ed to the end, but this doesn't work in every case, which can be very confusing!

Verbs that don't follow the -ed rule are called "irregular verbs." There are around 200 of them in the English language, and they are used very often. In this class, we will go over the 12 most common irregular verbs in the English language, which also just so happen to be some of the most used verbs of all.

Using a combination of slides, engaging lecture, and student input in the form of example sentences, students get the chance to not only learn how to properly conjugate tricky verbs like be, go, and read, but also to see them put to use in everyday situations.

The irregular verbs in this course include:

be
go
read
have
do
say
get
make
know
think
take
come
