In this 5-day camp, we travel to the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. We will visit Cancun, ancient Mayan ruins including the mysterious Chichen Itza, magical cenotes, an underwater museum, meet sea turtles, whale sharks, and so much more!

In this 5-day camp let's travel virtually together on a journey through the magical and mysterious Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico! First, we will get ready for our travels...what is the weather like at our destination? What do we need to pack? What money can we use? How far is our destination from where we live? What do we need at the airport? Then we will arrive at Cancun International Airport (CUN) and discover all we can do in this fun city. From there we will take a quick boat ride to Isla Mujeres and dive into the world-famous MUSA Underwater Museum talk about snorkeling and scuba diving and then meet some of the incredible marine life found there including turtles and the whale shark!! From there we will travel through the peninsula to visit the ancient Mayan ruins of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Chichen Itza, Ek Balam, and Tulum. Here will find out who were the Mayans? What did they do? What makes these ancient ruins soo special? Finally, we will take a closer look at 5 of the over 6000 cenotes that are found in the Yucatan. These Mysterious natural water formations have a history and mystery as deep as their waters. We will learn about what they are and their connection to the Mayan civilization. You will come away from our camp with a great appreciation of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula! Day 1: Introductions. What do we need to pack? What is the weather like? How long is the flight? Important information to know before traveling. What do we know about Mexico already? Arriving in Cancun and discovering this fun resort city. Day 2: Travel to the Island of Isla Mujeres and visit the MUSA Underwater Museum and meet some of the Yucatan's marine life Day 3: Learn about the ancient Mayan civilization of Mexico and discover the ruins of Unesco Heritage Site Chichen Itza, then onto Ek Balam and Tulum. Day 4: Visit some of the most interesting and mysterious cenotes of the area and continue on learning about the Mayan mystery of Chichen Itza. *Don't see a time that works for you? My classes are inclusive and allow Learners to ask questions, cultivate discussions, and share experiences with each other to learn together and of course, have fun!! Parental Guidance
Introduction to the ancient Mayan Civilization and some of their mysteries and intrigue. Visit the MUSA Underwater Museum and talk of scuba diving and snorkeling. There will be mention of wildlife including whale sharks, lizards.and maybe reptiles.
