In this One-Time class we will learn about the Viking Age in Britain, which began with raids in June 793 CE at the abbey of Lindisfarne. It was followed by the sacking of the monastery of Jarrow in Northumbria in 794 CE and Iona in Scotland in 795 CE. Students will learn a brief historical background about the Vikings. Students will learn about the causes, nature and significant battles of Vikings invasion of England. Students will learn about Viking settlements and establishment of Danelaw. Students will learn about the end of the Viking Age in England.
