During this one time class we will read aloud The Very Hungry Caterpillar, then create a delicious "caterpillar" snack together! During class, we will start with a short introduction of learners, read the story, review the ingredients needed, then assemble the snack. This will be an interactive story time, where I will read the story and ask open ended questions during the reading. I will be reading the book then actively demonstrating and instructing how to assemble the caterpillar snack. During this class learners will have many opportunities to speak up, interact with me and other learners, and share their own experiences. No previous experience or knowledge is required!

Ingredients 1 green apple, cored and cut into thin slices (dip in lemon/lime/orange juice to prevent browning) 1 Babybel cheese round wrapped in red wax (or generic version) 2 chocolate chips 8-10 pretzel sticks Paper plate or tray to assemble snack

Hello there! My name is Mary and I'm a professionally trained chef with experience in restaurants, country clubs, catering, and institutional cooking. I love to train young chefs in the "hows" and "whys" of cooking so every meal will be delicious! I thoroughly believe in hand on instruction, for cooking there is no other way. I love to eat, travel, read, laugh, and spend time with my kids and family. I also am passionate about arts and crafts and love to get messy once in a while with glitter!
