45 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
Each week in this course, we will begin class with greetings so learners feel comfortable with each other and the teacher in class. During each class, learners will have the opportinuty to discuss the game of their choice (either Minecraft, Roblox, or Among Us) with each other with the goal of learning game strategies and tips/tricks from each other through this fun and social environment. The information provided each week will be learner directed and will not build on each other so students do not need to be present each week to participate and enjoy class. Students will be asked each week which gaming platform they would like to discuss. If ALL learners would like to stay as a big group and discuss the same gaming platform, we will stay together and take turns talking about the gaming platform of choice for the week. If there is time, we may discuss more than one platform. However, if learners would like to discuss different gaming platforms, breakout rooms will be used to divide learners up to discuss the gaming platform of their choice for the week. If this is the case, the teacher will bounce around between breakout groups to ensure everything is running smoothly and the learners are interacting appropriately. Depending on the skill level of the learners as they enter this class, they may not learn new skills, but their expertise may add value by teaching new skills to other learners in the class. The way this class is setup will allow learners to dabble in talking about and learning about more than one gaming platform within ONE class as they may choose to talk about a certain platform one week and then a different platform the next. As the teacher, I will be helping the learners to facilitate conversation, while making the skills learned memorable for the learners by providing quick question and answer sessions randomly throughout our sessions. **Learners do NOT need to ask questions in this class - they will be provided the opportunity, but can simply "pass" when it is their turn. They can choose which platform they would like to learn about and go into that group if breakout sessions are used for the day, but do not need to actively participate**
