This is not a graded class but I will be providing optional homework for those who want/need extra practice. Optional homework assignments will be posted in the Outschool Classroom once a week or two. I will post the assignments and the answer keys so you can check your answers when you are done with the assignments. Homework will not be sent in for grading, but for additional skills. Please feel free to message me on Outschool Messages at any time with questions about the optional homework or any topics we cover in class so that you don’t fall behind.
Here is a list of manipulatives that are needed or recommended for grade 5. A ruler that measures in inches A ruler that measures in centimeters A compass and protractor Notebook, Pen or Pencil.
A review test will be taken at the end of the course and an informal assessment will be made.
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
No scary or violent content will be used. The class will use interactive quiz competitions in Kahoot.it or Nearpod.com. No installation of any software is required. The learner can access the quiz directly from the web browser.
This curriculum is based on the US Math curriculum (originally on the New York State Education Department Math Curriculum) along with some extra addition of certain concepts to cover all High School Algebra Concepts.
