I have thirty years of experience on the guitar as a teacher, composer and performer. My approach to teaching the guitar is to introduce the instrument as an extension of the player's voice. Through this philosophy, I provide easy to understand language, individualized focus and tips and tricks to make playing the guitar simple and fun.
Practice regimens will include Berklee Finger Exercises; Scales and chords; song selections. Students are expected to practice for between 15 - 30 minutes per day.
Some sheet music and tablature material will be provided to students. Purchasing Mel Bay beginner guitar is optional and will only be used for some reference content throughout.
Learner progress is assessed through student-teacher interaction, content and repertoire performance during lessons.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
