A novel study for "The Time Machine" by H.G. Wells ISBN: 978-1949982909 Description from the novel: When an English Scientist, known only as the Time Traveler, invents a machine that can travel through time, the most logical outcome would be to test such a machine. After a trial run that saw him travel three hours into the future, the Time Traveler pushes further into the future to year 802,701, where he meets a mellow race of humans called the Eloi. Soon he discovers that the Eloi are not the only human race left on earth... The class is six weeks long. Students will be able to choose if they would like to print their homework assignments or complete them all digitally. Google Classroom: All of the assignments for this course are available in a digital version through Google Slides. I can email the assignment to a gmail account for students to complete. This method allows students to type their answers directly onto the slides and use other features such as drag and drop. Once the student completes the assigned slides for the week they simply email them to the teacher for grading. Socrative.com: This is the digital option for students to take their quizzes online and received immediate feedback. Students do not have to register to use this program. I will provide the classroom code and it will take them straight to that week's quiz. There is a chapter 1-7 quiz (week 4) and then a Final Test quiz at the end of the novel (week 6). Quizlet: Vocabulary lists are provided each week. Students can study from the list or access Quizlet which has the vocabulary in digital flash cards to help the learner.
