Learners will need to read the text of the week in order to be prepared to be able to engage in discussions with their peers.

Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 8
Book clubs encourage critical thinking and deeper engagement with stories, provide accountability in reading and reading comprehension, promote a love for literature in a positive and nurturing environment, and provide an opportunity to socialize with new people!  The Teenage Book Club will provide a safe space for teenagers where they can openly discuss the book of the week!

Weekly Agenda
-Greetings/Introductions
-Fun review of book of the week
-Making text connections
-Discussion questions about the book of the week
-Sketch that scene (learners will have five minutes to sketch a scene from the novel) OR Song to the scene (learners will find a song that connects to a scene from the novel)
-Trailer for the next book
-Closing

Parental Guidance
The novels are a part of a series, however each novel stands on its own. Reading the previous novel is not needed in comprehending the current text.
