Description
Class Experience
This is the introductory class for the classical literature unit " The Tale of Tsar Saltan" by A.S. Pushkin. This one time class is for bilingual children who already can read and write (print or cursive) in Russian at the basic level or at a more advanced level. Students will need to be able to write a couple of words in Russian and be able to read a simple sentence. This course is highly adaptable, so each learner will read and write at their level. This class is taught in Russian.
Students will improve their understanding of the classical literature unit "The Tale of Tsar Saltan" by A.S. Pushkin, learn about the author, learn new vocabulary and start analyzing the Tale by creating a story map with the main characters and main events of the story.
After the class, I will provide a copy of the story map to print (color printer recommended). So students will be able to cut the elements and paste them on the map.
"The Tale of Tsar Saltan" in Russian (optional) can be purchased here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/593893866X/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A61N7LUTYURA8&psc=1 Students will need scissors, glue, pencil and eraser. I will read the story to the children, but if you already have the book at home " The Tale of Tsar Saltan", it would be wonderful if the child has it available during and after the class. A 3 pages hand out will be provided after the class. The students will need help printing it (color recommended). The elements of the story will be cut and pasted on the map. We will be using the interactive elements of Miro whiteboard during the class only.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
